Educational videos can be great to intro a new lesson or give students some extra review.  Sifting through all of the video websites to find quality ones, however, can be a bit daunting.  I’ve explored these listed (and linked) below to give you some good places to start.

TeacherTube: This YouTube for teachers is an amazing resource for finding educationally-focused videos to share with your classroom. You can find videos uploaded by other teachers or share your own.

My personal favorite after I searched several different content areas: Julius Caesar on the Cosby Show

YouTube EDU: A YouTube channel just for education, you can find primary and secondary education, university-level videos, and even lifelong learning.

Personal fave: Jetpack Rocket Science

neoK12: Find science videos and more for school kids in K-12 on neoK12.

This site is definitely heavy on science videos, but they do have videos for other content areas, as well.  The quality of videos varies, so some searching to find the best one may be required.

Google Educational Videos: Cool Cat Teacher offers this excellent tutorial for finding the best of Google’s educational videos.

TED-Ed: From a site that’s long been known for big ideas, you’ll find TED-Ed, videos specifically designed to act as highly engaging and fun lessons.

This one might be my overall favorite site for accessing educational videos.  It has features that extend the video, such as “Think,” which leads to related quiz questions, “Dig Deeper,” which links to additional resources, and “Discuss,” which consists of guided discussion questions.

Backpack TV: In this educational video library, you’ll find a special interest in math, science, and other academic subjects.

This site is more of an individualized, interactive site.  You can choose any subject (though math is pretty basic), and there will be some kind of interactive quizzing activity for the student to attempt.  My favorites were for ESL, Spanish vocab, and AP Test Prep.
