This series spotlights the incredible work being done by amazing educators from all over the world, in a variety of roles. While classroom teachers are on the frontlines, directly impacting our students on a daily basis, educators wear many different hats and are in many different positions. Scott Nunes is the most recent to share a bit about his work.
Scott is a teacher with Modesto City schools in California. The following are the questions I pose for all of the spotlighted educators, and Scott’s answers to them.
What do you love most about your job?
Working with technology and building relationships!
How do you make the greatest impact on students?
Smiling, being supportive, and kind. I do my best to model empathy and caring.
What do you wish more people knew about education?
That teachers are among the most giving and generous people. Their work never ends.
What is your favorite learning resource (person, podcast, book, Twitter chat, conference, etc)?
I really enjoy going to ISTE and Spring CUE. It is better than attending a university course and I learn so much!
Anything else we should know?
My secret hobby is sandcastle building!
Scott is also the podcast of the phenomenal TNT Edtech Podcast. Make sure you subscribe! Connect with Scott on LinkedIn or Twitter (where he is super active!). As educators, our goals are all the same – connect with students and provide them all they need to be successful in life.
